Excessive accumulation of watery fluids due to fractures may compress the median nerve leading to CTS. 3. Hormonal changes during pregnancy and menopause can cause CTS. 4. Enlargement of hand bones, as well as the feet and face (Acromegaly) could lead to CTS. 5. Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout or Pseudogout can cause CTS. 6. Renal failure and hemodialysis. 7. Hypothyroidism (Insufficient production by thyroid gland) (3).
