Signs & Symptoms

Symptoms of Cerebrovascular disease depend on the area of the brain that is damaged. The most common symptoms include:

  1. Paralysis or weakness of an arm, leg and one side of the face.

  2. Numbness or tingling with decreased sensation.

  3. Changes in vision or loss of vision.

  4. Inability to speak or slurred speech, difficulty in reading or writing.

  5. Difficulty in swallowing or drooling.

  6. Nausea or vomiting.

  7. Loss of memory.

  8. Loss of balance or coordination.

  9. Personality changes.

  10. Change in mood such as depression or apathy.

  11. Drowsiness, lethargy or loss of consciousness.

  12. Uncontrolled eye movements or eyelid drooping.

  13. Unusually severe headache (3) & (6).
