The most common types of EDS are Type I and Type II. Some common symptoms include: 1. Skin Problems: Skin could be soft velvet like, fragile and bearing bruises or tears easily, stretchy rubber like with poor wound healing capability. 2. Joint Problems: Joints could be loose, unstable with frequent dislocations usually occurring in the shoulders, knees, hips, collar bone or jaw. Joint pains from frequent dislocations. 3. Eye Problems: Near sightedness 4. Muscle weakness 5. Family history of ruptured uterus, colon or brain aneurysms. 6. Heart problems, such as mitral valve prolapse, aortic root dilatation and spontaneous rupture of large arteries. Some of the less common symptoms that may occur in the rare forms of EDS include:
