Signs and Symptoms

Unfortunately, stomach cancer is asymptomatic during its early stages which can cause an initial diagnosis to be delayed for more than 80 percent of patients. However, some of the initial stomach cancer symptoms are:

• Indigestion that never goes away and stomach discomfort.
• Bloated feeling right after eating.
• Feeling full too easily.
• Vague discomfort in the abdomen, above the navel.
• Mild nausea and vomiting sensation.
• Loss of appetite.
• Heartburn.

When the cancer advances, stomach cancer symptoms become more severe:

• Stomach pain.
• Vomiting with or without blood.
• Blood in the stool or stool which is black in color.
• Tiredness caused by anemia (due to the stomach walls bleeding).
• Difficulty swallowing.
• Jaundice (the skin and eyes become yellow).
• Ascites (fluid starts to build up inside the abdomen cavity).
• Significant weight loss.
